Adar Gandelsman (Hebrew Adr gndlsmn) is an Israeli beauty pageant titleholder as well as a model. She was the first runner-up in Miss Israel 2017, receiving the title of Miss Universe Israel, and was a contestant at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Adar was a part of the Miss Universe 2017 pageant, but she did not place. At the pageant, Gandelsman took a picture with Sarah Idan, Miss Universe Iraq in that year. Idan and her family fled Iraq in December 2017. They were shocked because she had taken a photo of Miss Israel with Miss Israel. Miss Israel served as Miss Universe Iraq at the time. Gandelsman hails from Ashkelon and was born in Israel to Ashkenazi Jewish parents. [1][2The word "adar" is a reference to a month.
